CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago-based transportation and logistics provider Coyote Logistics has chosen to expand its headquarters, adding 500 full-time jobs at its Logan Square facility, Governor Pat Quinn announced Monday.

Coyote Logistics will add sales, operations and other IT-related jobs. Workers will be hired over the next three years, Quinn said.

The company's expansion comes as Illinois' economic comeback is gaining momentum. According to a report released last week by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, Illinois was second in the nation in job growth as unemployment rates fell to 6.6 percent in September, marking the seventh straight monthly decline.

Coyote, founded in 2006, arranges transportation for more than 6,000 loads per day for shippers of all sizes and industries. The company uses technology to make over-the-road shipping more efficient for shippers, haulers and receivers. In 2013, Coyote hired 408 new employees, including 175 in Chicago.
